"Case Study: Decorative Approaches to Traditional Iranian Architecture"
abstract
Decorative murals in traditional Iranian architecture are based on a creative and sustainable order, made of materials that are rooted in the vital environment of the materials and the place of its implementation. But with the introduction of new materials, the growth of technology and construction innovations in the contemporary period, not only was there no progress in the field of murals, but also due to the lack of knowledge of the capabilities of materials and the lack of creative techniques in urban murals, More and more creative murals are being removed every day.
Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the practical methods and decorative approaches in traditional Iranian architectural murals and answer how to recover them according to new technologies and modern materials in urban murals. Thus, with descriptive and analytical approaches, the methods of execution of traditional materials in decorative murals have been recognized. Then, by investigation new materials and technologies, the capabilities of this type of technology in the field of public space mural have been examined.
According to the research, murals and architecture in the tradition of Iranian cities are continuous collections and have functional and essential coherence. The necessity of aesthetics in the wall space along with the construction of the building was a creative preparation that required the Accompanying of the architect and the artist in creating a harmonious and active context. Knowing the materials and how it works, in the execution of murals, is a necessity that the Iranian architect and artist achieved in the past. It seems that knowledge the modern materials in today’s cities and the Accompany of the architect and artist, can make the wall space as an active and harmonious background, in proportion to other components and create creative murals.
