Investigating the place of color in today's urban space
(Case study: Enghelab Square - Vali- Asr intersection)
Abstract
Color is an integral part of urban life and can be seen everywhere; Body, facade of buildings, furniture, sidewalks, urban elements, environmental elements such as the sky play an important role in determining the color of the city.
The present article tries to study and analyze the interactive qualities of color as an effective factor in urban communication. For this purpose, the color quality of the area of Enghelab Street, between Enghelab Square and Vali-e-Asr intersection is examined. What is the role of color in the desired range and how it should be, are the questions that will be answered in this study. The method of this research is descriptive and analytical in which the data is presented based on visual and historical evidence.
The results of this study show that the color space of Enghelab Street has a multifaceted identity due to its different uses as well as its social, cultural and political role. In order to organize this space, creating an independent identity and defining it in creating color quality and its integration for the expansion of the study area and the reconstruction of the components located in it seems necessary.
