Monument and city

In Iran, from the past to the present, the celebration of famous people has become one of the important approaches to public art in cities; However, the way they are represented varies depending on time and place.

The cultural authorities say that the reason for their presence as a memorial in the city is the familiarity of the people with the national heroes, and of course, highlighting the role of the heroes in the public space is one of the important goals. However, this approach is also seen in the personal works of most contemporary painters, both those who follow the pop approach and those who follow a mythical perspective.

But my view of urban monuments is an intermediate approach, between art and the city. In this work, I tried to bring the color effects of the painting to the gray city and create a colorful memorial of the hero myth for the city; A city that has forgotten the heroic colors by turning gray.
